“…we will not be turned around or interrupted by intimidation because we know our inaction and inertia will be the inheritance of the next generation, our blunders become their burden.” – Amanda Gorman

Manifesting change and creating policies is not just about generating headlines, but in shifting the way we talk, think, and act every day. Even with women founders crushing every metric, it’s clear that too many dollars are still disproportionately allocated to the same pre-existing networks. To address some of the barriers and challenges faced by women-owned businesses, policies to encourage diversity in the groups granting economic access can help them access and fully participate in local and global value chains.

As a trusted member of the Board of Advisors at Women in Cloud, I am committing my time, resources, and network to take action towards strategic initiatives to create opportunities for female technology founders. Access and visibility are critical in the opportunities we create in the workforce. This year, at the Women in Cloud Digital Summit 2021 #CloudJobs Session, I look forward to leading a discussion in how we can create the next generation of global talent and leadership in our industry.

With our mission to inspire, connect, and transform women-led technology companies, The Women in Cloud community also has a track record of delivering this vision with the Cloud Accelerator creating jobs, graduating companies with enterprise-ready solutions, and having generated $50M+ in opportunities. Beyond this, there are also partnerships with city and government officials and even with the United Nations to drive $1B in global economic impact by 2030. It is an incredible community-led economic development initiative and I’m honored to be part of driving meaningful change – together.

The theme of the 2021 Summit’s “Collective Power”; Collective power means coming together to build a resilient and trusted network of people supporting each other. It’s understanding the cumulative effect of our micro-actions for change on a macro-scale where a rising tide lifts all boats.

So join me at the Women in Cloud Digital Summit 2021, Jan 28-30, and let us collectively take action, create inclusive opportunities, and build a resilient technology industry we can be proud of!
