Suma Annegowda Lost Her Job and Found Her Mission. 30,000 Women Later, LinkedInForHER Is Just Getting Started.
The book was already changing lives, but the problem was that almost nobody could see it.
Across boardrooms, classrooms, clinics, and founder communities throughout India, the same quiet pattern kept repeating itself. Women with years of expertise, hard-earned credibility, and stories worth listening to were showing up fully in their work and disappearing almost entirely online.
Their LinkedIn profiles were half-filled or forgotten entirely. Their achievements lived in meeting rooms, classrooms, hospitals, and businesses. Rarely online.
The people around them knew how capable they were; the internet didn’t. Because many of them had spent years believing that good work would speak for itself.
Suma Annegowda believed that too. Until she realized that in today’s world, silence gets overlooked, no matter how brilliant the work behind it is.
In 2021, she walked away from a job that wanted her back in the office at a time when flexibility was no longer optional for her. Suddenly navigating uncertainty on her own, she began building her presence on LinkedIn out of necessity more than ambition.
And almost immediately, something shifted.
Conversations opened up. Opportunities started finding her. People responded to her ideas before they ever met her in person. Visibility, she realized, was not vanity. It was access. It was credibility at scale. It was the bridge between good work and a real opportunity.
But as she connected with more women founders and professionals across India, another realization hit harder.
So many brilliant women were still invisible.
Women with experience. Women with expertise. Women leading teams, building businesses, mentoring communities, and changing lives quietly, while their online presence said almost nothing about who they were or what they had built.
“Too many talented women were doing great work but staying invisible online,” Suma says. “I built LinkedInForHER to help them stop waiting to be noticed, own their story, build confidence, and attract the right opportunities.”
That belief became LinkedInForHER, a personal branding and LinkedIn strategy platform built specifically for Indian women founders, professionals, coaches, consultants, doctors, and students who want their presence to reflect the depth of their work.
Through profile revamps, content strategy, networking confidence, and personal brand development, Suma teaches visibility as a skill. Something practical. Learnable. Necessary.
Since launching LinkedInForHER, she has trained more than 30,000 students, professionals, founders, and leaders through workshops, mentoring programs, and institutional partnerships with organizations including Infosys, Google DevFest, Manipal Hospital, and women-led communities and engineering colleges across India.
Beyond LinkedInForHER, Suma also leads BooksForHER, a social initiative that has donated thousands of books to rural schoolgirls and children from underserved communities.
Because for Suma Annegowda, visibility was never just about algorithms or personal branding.
It was always about making sure the right people are seen, heard, and remembered.
The talent was already there; she simply made those talents visible.
